Pesto is my favorite sauce. Thrown with gnocchi, spread on flatbread for Pesto & Caramelized Onion Flatbread, layered between pizza dough and cheese for Pesto Pizza, and swirled throughout freshly baked bread, as is the case today.
It’s incredibly easy to make, especially with the help of a stand mixer fitted with a hook attachment. It simply asks that you have patience. You can speed the process along by making the pesto in advance or even buying store bought pesto.
It’s worth the wait when you’re face to face with this fresh braid of bread that’s ribboned with fragrant pesto. It’s excellent served fresh from the oven and dipped into high quality extra virgin olive oil with fresh herbs. Enjoy!
