This dessert is for my sweet-tooth compadres. It’s absolutely decadent; sweet and rich. Soft and melt-y. It’s like a blondie in texture and taste but with tart apple pieces and toffee bits in each bite and with a sweet brown sugar frosting.
The apples on my tree produced early this year so I’ve been enjoying baking all my favorite apple recipes. Like the Apple Clafoutis and Cardamom Cognac Apple Cake.
If you want to please the people in your life that always have space for dessert–the sweeter the better–then this is for you. If you want to please the people that are a little hesitant when it comes to sweet desserts, then skip the frosting entirely. They’re plenty sweet and delicious as is.
Now can you really turn down anything with toffee pieces in it? I think not.
