These cookies made it all the way to France! The last time I baked them, was on the eve of our annual trip to France and I brought dozens in my suitcase to share with the family. The actual picture above are the exact cookies that I hauled along with me. The reason I’m posting so late is because I forgot all about them. I hadn’t typed up the recipe yet and was going through old food photographs when I stumbled upon this one and remembered it never went full circle on the blog. So here we are!
The reason I thought to bring these to France was because of the incorporation of cream cheese. The French love chocolate chips cookies, the delicious, soft cookie of America (that they never get quite right there) and they also love cream cheese which they call, “Philadelphia” Hehe. When we arrived with bags of these, they were really pleased.
Chocolate chip cookies with cream cheese in them are unlike any cookie I’ve ever had. They’re tangy. Which turns about half the population off, which is fine. But they really provide a unique element that the other half of the population like quite a bit. If you like chocolate cheesecake, you’ll like these cookies. See what you think! And take a look at my favorite cookies that also have cream cheese in them (that I happened to bake 100 of for a NASA event: Glazed Citrus Cream Cheese Cookies).
