Cardamom Pear Upside-Down Cake

I feel as though pears are underrated and underused. When Fall hits, apples steal the show. They steal the entire season really. No complaints, just innocent observations. The same is true for cardamom. Cinnamon is always in the lime light. Again, no complaints.

But, can’t we all have a chance to shine?

What makes this particular cake such a winner, is the “pear-ing” (I can’t help myself) of the two under-dogs: pear and cardamom.
