Pumpkin Apple Muffins

I wait all year for pumpkin and apple season. These muffins are part of the reason why. They scream Fall. And they satisfy my Fall mood cravings.

Soft, pumpkin-y muffins with tender apple bits and a subtly sweet icing.

Pumpkin is a delicate flavor and relies heavily on the addition of spices to bring out it’s flavor. Much like salt. The pumpkin pie spice helps the pumpkin thrive. It also warms the apple and mutes any sour notes. They really are the perfect muffin.

And the second best part, the first being the taste, is the ease at which to make these. They do not require fancy equipment or an electric mixer. A whisk will do the job. And they are easy to throw together.
