Pear Tart with Ginger & Walnuts

My husband, Fabien, is obsessed with pears. I’ve always been a loyal apple lover, and still am. However, he’s convinced me over the years that pears are often more juicy and “less cliché” than apples, making any dessert a little more special. And so, now apples and pears are a staple in our house. And I couldn’t be happier.

This gorgeous tart is for the “less sweet” dessert lovers. The pears provide a nice freshness, it’s light on butter and sugar, and it warms the system with finely minced candied ginger and a pinch of cinnamon.

And isn’t it just beautiful? It’s sophisticated, yet rustic. It’s the perfect dessert to serve because it can be sliced and plated alone, bursting with pear flavor, or it can be served with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

If you do not have a rectangular tart pan, worry not. It can be made easily with a round tart or pie pan.
