Wrinkles that I can get on board with. Technically crinkles. It’s almost misleading to call these “cookies” because really they taste like brownies. They are easy to make but finicky to bake. The ingredients are simple, they require no chilling, and they only take 12 minutes to bake. I know this from my own personal burning of batch #2. The first batch were beautiful, crinkled, and soft. The second batch had not yet crinkled at the 12 minute mark, so I left them in a few minutes more. Big mistake. They barely crinkled, and instead, they burned on the bottom. When making your own, use the convection oven feature to help distribute the heat. Also, my second batch that burnt were on a lower rack, only a few inches from the bottom of the oven. If you avoid of all that, you are rewarded with adorable crinkly disc shaped flat brownies. AKA cookies.
