Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Each month, on the A Bee Bakes instagram (@abeebakes — please follow!) I post my baking fails. Sometimes there are few, but most often, there are many. I do extensive recipe testing and as such, have a variety of results.

Last month on Instagram I showed the pictures of two different peanut butter cookies that weren’t up to my standards. One was a classic soft peanut butter cookie with the grooves in it from being pressed with a fork, but turned out to be too dry and nothing to rave about. The others were these peanut butter cup cookies, which were good (and my niece inhaled) BUT I wasn’t sure if you guys would like the addition of candy as the peanut butter factor. I asked you and you responded, YES, you would love those. So, here they are! A failure turned success.

I also asked on a poll on Instagram if you’d prefer them with or without chocolate chips. The overwhelming results were, add the chocolate chips! So whether you want to keep them purely peanut butter cup, or sprinkle them with more chocolate, the choice is yours. Fabien and I both preferred with chocolate chips. 🙂

If you’re a peanut butter fanatic, my favorite peanut butter cookies on the blog are these Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies that are reminiscent of girl scout cookies. I also like my peanut butter ribboned with marshmallow, maybe you will too: Flutternutter (Peanut Butter Marshmallow) Cookies and Flutternutter Bars.

And lastly, my favorite peanut butter recipe on the site, a homemade reeses: Peanut Butter Bars.
