Doubletree Copycat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Before moving to San Diego, Fabien and I took many trips here to scout the best areas for our first apartment. I always use booking.com to find good deals on hotels and this time, we found one for The Doubletree by Hilton in Del Mar. When we walked up to the reservations desk to check-in, they offered us their warm signature chocolate chip cookies. For free. Did you know about this?! How is this not a more widely known phenomenon? Every time you stay in a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel they provide these to their guests. I have yet to afford to stay in another DoubleTree BUT the minute I find a deal, I’m loyal to them. And these cookies are the reason why.

They’re so good. They are incredible soft and moist. It may be the pinch of cinnamon added, or perhaps the use of both brown sugar and white sugar. I think the real reason that makes these so special though, is the ground old fashioned oats and finely chopped walnuts. They provide a complex flavor that trumps the classic chocolate chip cookie. If you don’t find yourself frequenting a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel often, then worry not, I’ve perfected a copycat version below. Enjoy!
