Austin

Surprise!

I’ve moved from California to Texas! Austin to be exact. It’s been a few weeks now and I’m still settling in. The hardest part? Living in an “extended stay” hotel with no oven. I didn’t quite realize at what extent baking truly plays in my life. Not to mention happiness —  I miss it so much! Once we’ve moved into a place, life will feel more like my own again. The best part? I’m close to family members that I don’t get to see so regularly and all the new places to explore. 🙂

Before moving, I created a back-log of recipes which I have now officially exhausted. *sniff, sniff* It’s astonishing just how quickly this end-of-summer period has flown by. Does it feel that way for you too?

Next week I’ll be transitioning from my current job to a new job in Austin. I should be moved into a new place by the end of the September. So until then, hang tight. I can’t wait to introduce you to my new oven, new Austin flavors, and new kitchen table background for all the photos. 😉

If you’re in a September mood and needing some ideas for what to bake, feel free to message me any time or use the search bar to search for some of your seasonal favorites (I’m thinking apple, pumpkin, cinnamon etc.) I personally, am beside myself with excitement to get back in the kitchen. I have a whole list taunting me.

Have a very happy September and I’ll report back as soon as things get cookin’ again!

*Update: it’s been almost a month now, read about the restaurant scene and my journey here: First Month in Austin
