Baked French Toast

Just in time for the weekend!

If you have any bread that’s getting too old to enjoy, whether it be a baguette, brioche, croissant, or a french loaf, I’d highly recommend this baked french toast recipe.

It’s easy, it’s delicious, and it can be made even more beautiful with the season’s fruit and berries. This french toast is really a mix of Bread Pudding Loaf with Crème AnglaiseBread Pudding, and Pain Perdu (French Style French Toast). Similar to bread pudding, the bread soaks overnight (or a few hours) before being baked. And similar to french toast, it’s served with maple syrup and (optional) fruit, whipped cream, etc. This particular recipe is offers the french toast base and then better baking gets sprinkled with a little streusel-esque topping. It’s delicious and adds more flavor and texture.

It’s always satisfying to make these recipes because it uses up that extra milk in the fridge, that bread that you’d hate to see go to waste, and those eggs you’re not entirely sure what to do with.

Have a great weekend everyone! ❤
