Nutella Chocolate Oatmeal Bites

These no-bake treats may be small but they come packed with flavor and texture. They’re sort of like trail mix (minus the nuts…although, maybe shouldn’t be!) held together by a combination of chocolate and Nutella. Ohhhh, you’re welcome!

I had my Mom, who doesn’t like Nutella (gasp), try these. I told her they were “chocolate oatmeal coconut bites.” She went back for seconds and thirds before I told her that taste she was describing as frosting was likely due to the Nutella and chocolate components. I should mention, I’m the youngest child. 😉

So if you’re anti-Nutella, don’t worry, it’s not a distinguishable ingredient here. When mixed with the other ingredients, it does sort of taste like a less-rich frosting that’s binding the chunky bits together. Sort of like fudge. Maybe I should have named them Coconut Oatmeal Fudge. I’d love you to try these and see what name you think best describes them.

Because no baking is required, they’re insanely easy to make. You just melt down most of the ingredients in a saucepan and then stir in the rest. Spread in a dish and put in the fridge until cool enough to slice.

I’m not a parent nor am I dietician but if I really stretch here, I’d say there’s a wholesome quality about these they may inspire making these with kids? Or at least introduce them to chewy textures like oats and coconut. Unfortunately I didn’t have my nieces and nephews nearby when I served these, but I *think* they would approve!
