Do you often find yourself looking at the freckled ripe bananas in your kitchen with pity? Worry not. These bars can give them their much deserved glory.
I find this recipe to be incredibly inventive and unlike any of the other recipes I’ve made that use ripe bananas. Well, except of course that they’re all delicious. 😉
It’s more of a banana fudge in consistency. It’s not your typical banana bread that’s fluffy, like Banana Nut Muffins. And while similar to Banana Brownies (Vegan) for the denser texture, this recipe definitely does not taste healthy, nor does it try to. “totalcookbookaddict” on Instagram wrote that the description almost sounds like a lemon bar for consistency. And yes!!! That is exactly it. A thicker, chewier version of that.
It is both sweet and sophisticated, rich in texture and flavor, and absolutely divine.
When Fabien came home and tried a piece he turned to me and said, “You should sell these. You could make millions.” He added that they embody an element of sophistication that will please the more fine-tuned palates. His French palate for example. It is buttery, banana-y, but also nutty from the brown butter and full of vanilla flavor.
If you bake frequently, you may have tried an innumerable amount of recipes that call for ripe bananas.

These look incredibly good. I can’t wait to try them.
