Goat Cheese, Honey & Thyme Puffs

France is the absolute best for their appetizers. I’m reminded of this each year we go back to visit family and friends. Before each dinner, especially at my in-law’s house, we are greeted with an array of “amuse-bouche” appetizers. Amuse bouche translates to something to “amuse your mouth.” It’s not meant to weigh you down and be a meal but simply to wet your palate before the real meal. And to have something served alongside the wine. 😉

As I often say, I think we should be more like the French. So with that, I have made an effort to experiment more with appetizers and snacks. Perhaps you recall the recent Blini post or even the Minted Pea & Ricotta Tart.

These little goat cheese bites are the perfect appetizer in every way. They’re both sweet and savory, and most importantly cheese is involved. It’s impossible to eat just one. While simple to make and simple in ingredients, they truly are spectacular. The creamy goat cheese, the sweet honey, and the fresh thyme, create a perfect harmony of flavor.

  1. Trying this one this weekend! I just got a huge jar of raw local honey and I am looking for an excuse to open it. 🙂
